I am a professional pianist, accompanist and musical director currently offering my services as piano teacher, vocal coaching and mentoring.
I have had the chance to study with some of the finest teachers in North America, in both classical and jazz music. I currently hold a Bachelor’s of Music degree and completing graduate coursework in collaborative piano. I have also gone through intensive classical conservatory training.
As a professional musician, I have worked as an accompanist, musical director and freelance pianist for bands, churches, choirs, concerts and much more. Here is a list of my current services:
• Piano lessons: students of all ages and abilities (beginners to advanced). During the lessons, I cover all aspects of music, including theory, harmony and history through interactive lessons. Students will learn how to read music, play by ear and develop their skills through weekly lessons and at-home practice sessions. Students will learn a variety of songs, ranging from classical to folkloric songs without forgetting radio hits – lessons are customized to the tastes and interests of each individual students in order for you to get the most out of your lessons.
• Audition preparation: I help musicians prepare for auditions of all kinds. I have worked extensively with singers to practice audition pieces for college, musicals, theater and more. I have also helped instrumentalists rehearse their audition material and can give advice and pointers in regards to repertoire for college and university auditions.
• Vocal coaching: My experience as a musical director has helped me develop unique skills as a vocal coach. With my help, you will be able to rehearse songs with a real pianist (instead of midi tracks!) and obtain a quality mp3 recording of our arrangement to practice at home between our sessions. I will help you find your voice through the song, develop a unique interpretation and create your own arrangement of any song you need to learn. We can also work on developing your aural abilities and perfecting your pitch.
• Theory & Arranging: I offer theory and arranging lessons for musicians playing any kind of instruments. If you wish to learn more about classical harmony, jazz chord progressions and more, I can help you! No matter what instrument you play, we can go over basic and advanced theory and look over how you can arrange your own music or existing songs.
• Jazz improvisation: Whether you are planning on studying jazz in college, are struggling with your university classes or simply looking to discover this unique world that is jazz music, I will tailor individual sessions to help you out. I have access to many methods and have gained a wonderful insight into jazz improvisation through my years studying with professional players.
Pricing depends on the length of the sessions – regular hourly sessions are offered at $30.
