This is a xxxx vintage Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action tenor saxophone. Also known as the ?Super Action?, it was the first Selmer saxophone ever to offset the upper stack keys from the lower stack, making the horn feel better in the hands, a design that has since become standard on all saxophones. The original lacquer is about 65% intact, as can be seen in the photos. Ornate engraving extends into the bottom bow, and is engraved through the lacquer, a sign that the lacquer is original. The body is in very good shape, with a few small pin-prick dings, and one quarter sized dent on the bottom bow, as shown in the photo. The serial number on the neck matches that on the body. The neck is not creased and shows no signs of ever being pulled down. Pads are a mixed bag of somewhat new and fairly old. Only 6-7 of the original metal resonators on still on the horn, the rest having been discarded over the years by repair techs who should have known better.... All the keys were removed, the body and keys were cleaned, new lubrication was applied on re-assembly, all pads were seated, all missing corks were replaced, the action was regulated and adjusted. The horn plays just fine, but you will want to have your horn tech go over it, to set it up to your specs. Comes in a Reunion Blues leather gig bag.
