Description
Cherry and Martin is seeking a full time Sales Director. Cherry and Martin?s internationally recognized program includes young, mid-career and established artists and artist estates. These artists are the focus of museum exhibitions and gallery shows worldwide.
Applicants must be detail-oriented, highly organized and motivated with extensive sales experience and a proven track record. The position is full time (Tuesday through Saturday) and requires flexibility for additional hours to travel to national and international art fairs, openings, and client/museum meetings, as well as attend after-hours functions in Los Angeles on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities:
-Working in conjunction with the gallery directors completing art sales, planning sales strategies and growth
-Working closely with artists, collectors, consultants, and museum professionals
-Top-level engagement with the practice of each artist represented
-Considering artists for representation by Cherry and Martin
-Planning and coordinating gallery exhibitions and art fair presentations
-Traveling to national and international art fairs, openings, and meetings
-Monitoring artists? works at auction
Requirements:
-Extensive sales experience in a proven contemporary art setting
-Interest in and understanding of modern and contemporary art, institutions, and the art market
-Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
-Ability to work independently and efficiently within tight deadlines
-Proficiency with Apple computers and programs
