JOB DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of this position is to provide exceptional client experiences that focus on meeting stated needs as well as uncovering unstated needs and providing appropriate solutions. This is accomplished through needs-based conversations that position Scottrade asa total solutions provider while preserving our award winning service reputation. The branch is a performance driven environment that focuses on personal goals as well as branch and organizational initiatives. Investment Consultants are expected to strive for excellence ensuring that individual performance targets are met while meeting operational and compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Make proactive business development calls to clients, and prospects, for asset gathering purposes.
Partner with Scottrade Guidance Solutions Group to identify client needs and provide them with appropriate solutions.
Use business development techniques to strengthen client relationships in order to drive value for the customer and Scottrade.
Develop relationships with clients and establish new accounts. Perform follow up procedures to ensure that accounts are funded.
Provide exceptional service to clients, while also driving revenue opportunities for the firm.
Track sales activities in the client relationship management system.
Assist with the daily operations of the branch by working reports and following up with clients as necessary.
Partner with Scottrade Lines of business to service the client.
Present branch seminars in a professional and effective manner, tailoring to client needs as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
The physical requirements of this position are considered to be sedentary work (Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less in order to view a computer screen).
The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate (business office with co-workers, copiers, shredders, printers, etc.).

Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters as well as regular contact with other departments, or outside the organization furnishing or obtaining factual data requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. May need to regularly utilize specialized communication skills in order to maintain goodwill with internal and external customers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
1+ years related sales or financial services industry experience required.
1+ years brokerage industry experience preferred.

Clean U4 securities record required - FINRA, Series 63 required - FINRA, Series 7 required - FINRA
