This position has a dual role of balancing the operational demands of the stores in an assigned region with the legal aspects of human resources management and employee relations, including but not limited to:Has a presence in the stores, promoting the Sprouts culture and observing areas where improvements can be made in human capital, including training, development, legal compliance, and developing /recommending appropriate action plans to Regional Manager. Coach managers on interpretation of policies and proper procedures Act as an HR consultant to the management team, answering questions regarding employment law, risks and options. Guide managers on the proper handling of sensitive issues, including conflicts/disputes, discipline, confidentiality, and terminations. Listen to employee concerns and work as a neutral liaison between employees and managers to ascertain facts, explain policy and procedures and steer the manager in determining and carrying out proper actions. Observe training needs, develop, coordinate, conduct and monitor training programs to ensure professional development and legal compliance with employment laws in coordination with approved programs. Plan, direct and coordinate human resource management activities of an assigned region to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain balance of operational needs, Sprouts culture and regulatory compliance. Maintains strategic presence in stores to promote the Sprouts culture, observe customer and employee interactions, gauge employee attitudes, ascertain areas where improvements can be made, and develop suggested action plans for Regional Manager. Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation for areas of responsibility or involvement.Explain company personnel policies and procedures to employeesAssist managers in interpreting policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and proper handing of employee issues. Support managers in the succession planning process, including assistance in developing performance plans, assessing and monitoring training and development needs, and helping managers meet company goals and objectives as related to HR.Answer employee questions on a variety to HR related issues, such as where to obtain proper information, how to complete forms, procedures, pile and prepare confidential reports and documents pertaining to personnel activitiesAssist in processing and reviewing employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants as needed. Provide assistance in administering workerA?s compensation plans and customer incidents as needed.Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives and offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills.Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen. Organize and develop or obtain training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.Conduct new:hire orientation sessions on a regular basis, answer questions and promote culture Collect and review new:hire paperwork for accuracy and forward documents to corporate HR in a timely manner.Ensures all federal, state and local postings are current and accessible by employeesOther duties as assigned. Must have BachelorA?s degree from an accredited college/university in human resources, personnel management, business administration or a related field.Human Resources certification preferred (SPHR or PHR)Minimum of 10 years of HR management:business partnership experience preferredMulti:location/multi:site oversight experience preferredFlexible and adaptable to changing prioritiesMust have Labor experience and working in a Union environment.Must have Five years of experience in the grocery industry at a supervisory level. Must also have a command of employment law including: Employment and Labor Law, Title V
