This person will join a team responsible for a broad range of strategic, multiplatform content focused initiatives covering both new and established product lines within Verizon’s FIOS, Mobile, OTT and Broadband platforms. Success in this role requires the effective development, acquisition, distribution and execution of the Content Strategy with a focus on strategy, innovation and revenue growth.
We’re looking for a Content Acquisition Partner Manager to join our growing start-up team. The content team is critical to Go90’s success. Your mission is to acquire the world’s favorite premium multi-platform content. You will collaborate with every key part of the business: product, engineering, legal, finance and marketing. Our ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, hungry, self-motivated, tenacious and exudes passion about all things media, entertainment and technology related. As a Content Acquisition Partner Manager, you will develop deep relationships with our content partners, be their primary, daily contact and coordinate across our team to ensure that our content partners’ needs are met in a timely and exceptional fashion. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are highly relationship-oriented, organized, entrepreneurial, self-driven and positive.
Your key responsibilities are:
Shape Go90’s content offering and help build our community of content partners by recruiting and negotiating license agreements with the best creators of multi-platform content.
Identify and source new content opportunities, navigate key deal terms, and successfully close new partnership deals.
Negotiate complex license agreements with large and small content providers to secure high-demand content for the service.
Help inform and guide senior management on evolving acquisition plans, content trends, financial metrics. Analyze results to drive improvements in acquisitions strategy.
Drive continuous improvement in all operational aspects of Go90’s relationship with its content partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the digital content community.
Act as the primary point of contact and day-to-day management of Go90’s content partners.
Coordinate on-boarding of new content partners (working with Content Operations and If applicable, Marketing teams).
Ensure coverage across multiple content partner accounts, requiring prioritization, monitoring, and timely responses to client issues.
Track content partner feedback, helping to aggregate, prioritize and implement suggestions.
Maintain an engaged and positive content partner community, and develop strong relationships with broader stakeholders in the digital content community (agents, managers, etc.).
Work closely with our content providers to maximize the performance of content on the service, providing them with relevant, actionable performance metrics and best practices.
Drive regular financial and KPI performance tracking on account activity and report to the senior executive team.
Help make our content partners wildly successful and fulfilled.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s degree, MBA, Masters or equivalent preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Experience in a high volume account management, licensing or business development role.
Proven ability negotiating and closing complex license or business development agreements in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
A track record of success in content licensing and/or business development.
High degrees of drive, tenacity, urgency and relentless drive to drive deals/issues to a close.
Strong project management and organization skills and the ability to be adaptive and effective in a quickly changing, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and data analysis skills. Fantastic quantitative and qualitative judgment.
Strong working relationships with content providers. Develop and maintain good relationships with content partners and the industry at large, representing the company in a manner that builds trade quality and promotes the company’s reputation as an industry leader.
Passionate about entertainment and short-form video. Knowledge and enthusiasm of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video distribution, digital influencers and major content creators/providers as well as competitive landscape including new, emerging and established digital platform content offerings.
Evaluate and aggregate video programming, channels and brands from a variety of sources.
Research and analyze the external environment to understand market dynamics, trends, size, segmentation, customer needs, applicable and emerging content areas, and the competitive landscape.
Anticipate risks and drive risk management with cross-functional team.
