WearMena is a fashion design firm specializing in contemporary women's apparel. We are located in Highland Park, Los Angeles. We are a young start-up looking to surround ourselves with a creative, hungry mind willing to wear many hats. We believe in creating timeless pieces that counter-act fast fashion, making our garments locally, biking and gardening. Misty Rose is the designer and founder. She is a wonderful teacher. If you have an interest in design, CAD, pattern making, sourcing fabrics, or sample sewing, this could be a great fit. Greg Arata is Executive Director of WearMena. His skills lie in marketing, networking, brand management, filmmaking and editing.
As for you...we are seeking an intern who is smart and industrious. We have many initiatives that we are bringing forth this fall, including a "Road Show" up the west coast promoting WearMena to boutiques, a re-launch of our website, and the implementation of our sales strategy. We need an intern to come to Highland Park, at least 2x/week for 4-5 hours/day, and help us put these initiatives forth. There is no pay; but with growth comes opportunity. We are setting ourselves up for success. We love what we do and look forward to sharing that with you. We are banking on your youth, enthusiasm and charm to help take us to the next level! Responsibilities
-Plan trunk shows in other markets--research the area, design the event, seek out donations, serve as primary point person for event
-Create and maintain relationships with buyers and boutiques
- Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
- Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
- Assist with trade shows and special events to promote company and increase attendance.
- Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.
- Collaborate on team presentations for management and clients.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Fashion Design (optional)
-Possess a basic understanding of the Fashion/Apparel Industry (more important!)
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential.
- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
