Springfield 1903 Mark1 30-06 rifle in Los Angeles, California For Sale

This Springfield xxxx Mark 1 is peterson device ready but I do not have the peterson device. This rifle belonged to my dad and I think his dad. I am 60 and as far as I can tell from the serial number this was made in the early xxxx's. I know nothing about these guns but I did take it to a local gun shop to inspect and give me a value. They said the barrel looked good, they ran a cleaning cloth down it to inspect it. It has the original metal rings and the original wood although it was sanded and varnished by my dad 40 or 50 years ago. They said the sanding took off the stock marking and also my dad had the metal at the end of the stock replaced by a cushioned end. It has the flip up sights and is all original except for the stock modifications. This is not a sportorized edition or whatever they call those that have been modified to hunt with. I had never shot it since my dad died until a few months ago when we went to our local range and put about 10 rounds through it. I want a scope on it but the local shops all said NO sell it before doing that. They offered my 500.00 saying they would list it for 800.00 to 850.00. I can take more pics but my camera phone is only so good. Please do not waste your time with low ball offers or deals over the phone.
