If the Stone-Cork floating flooring is being installed in kitchens or entranceways, it will require two (2 coats) of water based polyurethane directly after install. The only polyurethane that we recommend for the Stone-Cork is Loba WS 2K Supra Satin. Our tests show that Loba WS 2K Supra is the only product that can offer the level of protection and quality of finish that is required to keep Forna Stone-Cork looking and acting strong and healthy. One to two (1-2) coats of the Loba are enough to ensure seams are properly sealed against water, snow, dirt, mud, etc.
All Stone-Cork glue down floors require sealing (site-finishing). Again, we only recommend/allow the Loba WS 2K Supra on the Stone-Cork. Two coats applied after installation is an excellent defence against the abuse these types of flooring installs (entranceways, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens) endure.
Please note, the Silver Slate Stone-Cork is produced with mica (it is not slate) and this makes it vulnerable to flaking. To prevent flaking and early wear, we require all Silver Slate Stone-Cork (glue down or floating) to receive two (2) coats of Loba WS 2K Supra. Failure to do so will void the Forna warranty.

Forna?s Silver Slate Easy, Natural Stone-Cork flooring is a true ?gem?. Its metallic cast runs from silver to Brass; copper to platinum; gold to pewter. Each panel is unique. Each surface is without peer. Silver Slate?s textured surface is magnified by the appearance of coloured dimples. These dimples are only on the surface of the stone. It is the colour change that comes with them that causes such a strong appearance. Some panels have dimples that are few and far between, whereas others are heavily speckled.
Variation is the theme here! ?Meek and demure,? is a phrase that will never be used to describe this floor! Silver Slate has a ?Wow? factor that is second to none! The natural sheen of this mica is used to set this floor a-glow! This floor radiates individuality! It has personality that goes beyond its price range! It will be a rare occurrence should visitors leave without commenting about this finish. Buyer, beware! The ?meek? need not apply!
